How can CustomEyes® large print books help you?

A Dad reading to his children

Do you want to enjoy stomping about with ‘The Gruffalo’ or ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’, adventuring with The Famous Five and the children in the Narnia stories, explore the wonderful world of Roald Dahl with “Matilda” or “The BFG”?

Blind Children UK’s CustomEyes® service produces tailor-made large print books for children and young people with a visual impairment. We support children and young people across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

You can choose from over 4,000 large print books with new titles being added monthly. Our books open up a whole world of imagination and learning, by enabling visually impaired children and young people to read the same books as their sighted friends and classmates.

Books available for you include picture books, novels, non-fiction, Oxford Reading Tree, GCSE and A Level English texts and textbooks, plus revision guides for Key Stages 2, 3 and 4.

Our books are tailor made to suit each child or young person in the best:

  • font
  • font size
  • spacing
  • paper colour
  • binding (for example spiral binding so books lie flat)

We supply both school libraries and local authority libraries with standard large print for their visually impaired members and can also customise large print books to suit.

Please take a look at our catalogues and give us a call on 0118 983 8275 or email customeyes@blindchildrenuk.org to find out how we can help you.

“One of the best things for Megan has been being able to get CustomEyes® large print books, and finally being able to read the stories other children and her sisters enjoy.”
